For system administrators and engineers, it is important to identify when there are gaps in the knowledge and skills needed to securely design, implement, and operate IoT systems. It may be useful to perform yearly skills assessments for these staff, to determine their understanding of the following:
- IoT data security
- IoT privacy
- Safety procedures for IoT systems
- IoT-specific security tools (scanners and so on)
