In-game teaching techniques

There are times when explaining complex game systems to players with little prior experience may be impossible without the strict guidance of carefully crafted tutorials. These direct teaching techniques include some of the following:

  • Beginner's training: Scripted and ring-fenced tutorials at the beginning of the game may run the risk of being perceived as unnecessary or frustrating, but they are still a highly effective tool.
