Step one – Read

The first step is to create an outline of the game story. One page per act or module would be enough. The idea here is to stay agile. The outline details all the story elements and how the story develops throughout the game.

This outline is then given to two groups of readers:

  • Peer writers: Knowledgeable about game writing, able to give technical feedback.
  • Team members: Game director, game designers, level designers, leads. Everyone that would be involved in the decision-making process for the project, expect for writers.
