Diagrams

Many concepts of game design simply cannot be described with words. Use flowcharts to show screen flows or UX; use state machines to describe scenarios or player behaviors; use charts to represent data. Don't use too-complex diagrams that no one is going to understand, but most of all don't use diagrams to tell programmers how to do their jobs (even better, never tell anyone how to do their job!).
