Addressing the problem

This is an advanced, real-life scenario; as such, things are never exactly as predicted. In fact, the prototype needed to answer more than one question. But let's get back to the problems again.

The combat lacks depth in the sense that:

  • One of the most important strategic choices in the fight is about which hero you select for that specific combat (to be strong against the enemy elements). The strategy should also propagate into the combat itself, not just exist in the pre-fight.
  • When it is time to play a card, the best one to play is always the most powerful. The choice could be more interesting.
  • All the heroes have access to all the card types (shields, heals, attacks), so each hero can fulfill all the roles in combat ...
