Keep development, staging, and production as similar as possible. We will discuss this in the Chapter 10, A View from Orbit. It is very desirable to have production-like environments everywhere. One of the reasons is that finding bugs pertaining to the peculiarities of production environments is very expensive when you are deploying to production. It's too late in the game.
