4 CREATING A MIGRATION STRATEGY

In this chapter I examine the character and nature of the governance functions within a data migration project. I explain how they are a superset of the standard project governance roles, processes and artefacts. I also define the specific control flows that maximise the control of a PDMv2 data migration project within a larger programme. I show how the data migration strategy is the key early deliverable that tailors the possibilities available within PDMv2 to the environment in which you find yourself and the needs of your project.
