From Stage 0 you will have received an initial decomposition of the migration problem into Key Business Data Areas. Each area may have been documented to the level of Conceptual Entity Model (or to whatever levels your choice of alternative modelling technique prescribes). If not do so now. We also need to extend the detail as we recover it from the analysis of the Legacy Data Stores. The data models we are creating here are the data models of how the legacy Key Business Data Area should be structured. We expect that individual Legacy Data Stores will conform to this model to a greater or lesser degree.
