STEP 1.0: STAGE INITIATION
From Stage 0 you will have a tentative list of Key Business Data Areas agreed with the programme, a first-cut catalogue of Legacy Data Stores and an accompanying (if incomplete) list of Data Stakeholders. Your project change management has all these lists firmly under control. Your data migration strategy document has been duly signed off and filed away with the programme documents and your provisional first stage plan has been approved.
You are probably still canvassing for all those additional Legacy Data Stores, but the deadline for an amnesty on disclosure is drawing near. Anyway you have a meaty list of Legacy Data Stores to kick off with and the resources are available to make a serious start.
