PROJECT CONTROL POINTS AND PLANNING
The data migration project is segmented into stages because this allows for a formal replanning step between each stage.
To assist the project or business managers I have added paragraphs at the end of each stage description that illustrate where the management control points are. Again, if you rework the project structure, as you probably will, you will need to rethink these control points but you will find, if you use the same tools, that the same basic items are at the bottom of your product hierarchy even if the structure is different. They have been designed with project control in mind.
