Summary

We have come to the end of the chapter, as well as the end of the book. This chapter has focused on advanced data preparation, manipulation, and calculations to assist end users who will consume these datasets in the various BI tools that we covered in the earlier chapters of the book. We focused our attention at the database level, as opposed to the previous chapters where we did much of the heavy lifting at the reporting level. More focus on the database server side will minimize the resources needed at the desktop level for users and developers. Ultimately, the goal of a BI developer is to get user adoption and user trust.
