Red Team is an odd term for a formal review of a draft proposal. Although no one knows for certain where the name comes from, speculations include a military origin (i.e., a strike force); Roman mythology (Mars, the red planet and the god of war); or, somewhat less dramatic, the color the proposal team sees once the red team has finished its review.
