Looking to the Future
Four years ago, the future looked bleak for PowerBuilder. PB developers were streaming over to Java as the Internet dotcom era exploded and then imploded. The economy since then has been stagnant, to say the least. If there was a time when PowerBuilder could have fallen off the face of the Earth, that would have been the time.
Since then, Sybase has released PB8 and now PB9, each with new features that continue to make this one of the premier development tools in the world.
We're already seeing some of the future plans coming to fruition, and Sybase has announced the development of version 10. Amazingly, the product has rebounded significantly over the past four years and is once again a growing force in the marketplace. ...
