Configuring Database Access

Chapter 19, “Connection Caches,” covers connection caches in detail. Refer to that chapter for more information.

Connection caches improve throughput of operations by maintaining the physical connection to a database after a component performs a logical disconnection from the database. You can create a connection cache two ways:

  • Create it under the Connection Caches folder. This places it in the EAServer Repository but does not install it in any servers (you can install it when you're ready).

  • Use the wizard for the Installed Connection Caches folder for a server:

    Highlight the Installed Connection Caches folder.

    Select File, Install Connection Cache.
    3.
    Select the Create and Install a New Connection Cache ...
