Jaguar JARs and manual ZIPs are best for promoting components to multiple machines. After successfully testing components together, a JAR can be exported and given to all developers to allow them to continue development. This cycle continues until the application is complete. The Jaguar JARs are also used to promote packages up to Q/A and Production. When deploying JARs, jagTool is used to set properties and ensure that the same commands and steps are being executed on each server.

Synchronization is best used when synchronizing servers within a cluster. Because of its limitations, I do not recommend using it to promote between environments. I would use this approach only to synchronize servers across a cluster. ...
