When to Use Web DataWindows
This technology is one of the most powerful features added to PowerBuilder in years and should be evaluated and used to quickly move PowerBuilder applications to the Web. This does not mean that every screen in a Web application should be a Web DataWindow. The Web DataWindow is a very valuable tool for presenting a screen of data to a user, providing entry and updating of data, and then updating the data in the database. However, the DataWindow provides overhead in terms of the functionality and the HTML and JavaScript that is generated.
