Conclusion

We've introduced a lot of new terms and concepts in this chapter, some of which you may already have been familiar with, all of which you will need to be familiar with when developing distributed applications. We described the evolution of development architectures to show how we have continued to build upon earlier architectures. We also showed that software development architectures and hardware deployment architectures have evolved to the same place. Of course, the technology will continue to evolve, but it's easier to understand and adapt to new architectures when you understand where they came from.
