2.1 The Power Network

In power system stability analysis the key mathematical equations are those which describe the dynamic behavior of the synchronous generators. The power system model used, therefore, is that which emphasizes modeling of the important torques influencing the motion of the generators' rotors and their associated controls. The rest of the power network is modeled in sufficient detail only to the extent that it influences the electrical torques of the generators.
