7 Linkage of OTEC to other Modes of Energy Systems

This chapter presents concepts of topping systems of energy release with respect to linkage to ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) plantship. Modes of energy release include the utilization of the bulk ΔT from the huge volume of ocean water for endothermic decomposition and conventional electrolysis of water into hydrogen and oxygen. The decomposition and electrolysis processes have to be followed by separation cycle to secure pure hydrogen and oxygen.
