PowerPoint can be a highly potent presentation tool if it is used well.

First, presenters always need to focus on how the mind processes multimedia messages. Our working memories can only handle a limited amount of information at any one time. The biggest mistake presenters make is to present too much information too fast.

Second, presenters need to remind themselves that PowerPoint is primarily a visual tool. PowerPoint’s impact comes from its ability to display persuasive visuals.

Finally, presenters need to guard against text overload. Power points that consist of endless text are presentation killers.
