About the Author
Barry Stinson graduated from Louisiana State University in 1995 with a master’s degree in music composition. During his tenure there, he was fortunate enough to help design the Digital Arts studio with Dr. Stephen David Beck. Designing a full-fledged music and graphicarts digital studio afforded him exposure to a diverse set of unique computing systems—particularly those from NeXT, SGI, and Apple. It was during this time that he discovered Linux and subsequently PostgreSQL, both of which were still in an early stage of development.
