Creating our first database using a command line

Well, it's time to create our first spatial database; PostGIS offers us several ways to do it, graphical or via a command line. In this section, you will see both of them and you will be able to select the one that you like more. There is nothing special about any of them, because the final result is the same for both of them.

Before we can start to develop the first database, we have to make executable binaries of PostgreSQL visible to our operative system, in this case Windows 7. For this, we will include the application's path to the PATH system variable. Perform the following steps:
