Turf wars present us with one of the most challenging and interesting dilemmas on the political scene. It is an overt battle of power and control that is usually played out in full view of many political bystanders. While at first glance this can be a scary place to be, it can also present a great opportunity to learn, to exercise political skill, and to be noticed. We definitely have many chances to perfect our skill using our political antenna in turf wars.
Doing nothing is an option. But by doing nothing, we miss out on the many benefits that can be gained in turf wars. The key to successful action is making our position clear to all. By following this with acts of integrity and fair dealing, we can maximize our potential to win respect from both sides and from all bystanders. Turf wars, which provide a superb learning opportunity, are not for the fainthearted but for those with ambition!
