The Political Bottom Line
Being placed in a firestarter dilemma puts us at the forefront of the political arena. We need to tread carefully and think deeply about what is really happening. If we can discover what the other agendas are and how those agendas affect the work we are trying to do, then we are much better placed to take positive and proactive action to resolve the dilemma. Our sponsors have a stake in our success. With careful handling, they ought to provide needed support or help us adjust our approach to the work at hand.
As we learn more about what lies behind the firestarter dilemma and the motives of the people around us, our understanding of the political dimension of our organization grows. This will increase our ability to make things happen and help us to bring about changeâwithout having to light fires and upset people!
