Interdomain Policies

This book has looked at how policies can simplify the task of managing devices in a single administrative domain. In a distributed environment, such as the Internet, a network consists of multiple administrative domains. Within an enterprise environment, as well, some level of autonomy may be desired by different organizations in administering and operating their own networks. Thus, it would be interesting to see how the notion of policies applies across administrative domains.
