In an application-hosting environment, the important aspects related to business needs are adding and removing new customers to and from the server farm. Each such customer would be accepted with assurances about its performance and security needs.
Accepting any new customer into a server farm requires the configuration and provisioning of multiple network devices, including traffic shapers, servers, and firewalls.
