Policy Distribution Using Management Frameworks

The need to manage different devices from a central location has been felt by the network operator community for a while. Some existing solutions have been designed specifically to address this concern. These solutions are usually proprietary and are referred to as management frameworks by their developers. Examples of such management frameworks are the TME-10 framework [TME10], which is used by Tivoli Systems for its management product offerings, and the TNG framework from Computer Associates [TNG].
