Role and User Discovery

After discovering the topology of the network, the policy management tool needs to discover the roles that the different devices play within the network. It also needs to discover the set of users who are present within the network, as well as the attributes of each of their users.

The role of the device refers to the set of functions that it is required to perform within the network.
