Policy Architecture Overview

The policy architecture as defined in the IETF/DMTF consists of four basic elements (as shown in Figure 1.2):

  • A policy management tool

  • A policy repository

  • A Policy Decision Point (PDP)

  • A Policy Enforcement Point (PEP)
