About the Author

Jack D. Herrington is a software engineer with more than 20 years of experience in application development. He is the author of Code Generation in Action (Manning, 2003) and is the editor of the Code Generation Network (CGN) (http://www.codegeneration.net/). As part of his CGN work, he reviews technical books. That started the Bound Cast book review podcast (http://www.boundcast.com/), which was the genesis of the book you have in your hands.

His most recent professional work was at Macromedia, where he helped design and build several releases of Dreamweaver. Before that, Jack worked at Certive, a Redwood City, California-based Business Intelligence start-up. He has also worked at Axon Instruments in both California and Melbourne, Australia. Currently he is working at Leverage Software (http://www.leveragesoftware.com/). He is a frequent contributor to the O’Reilly Network (http://www.oreillynet.com/), DevX (http://devx.com/), and IBM’s developerWorks (http://ibm.com/developerworks/).
