Now that we have learned about the equipment, the software, and the available services, let’s get to the nuts and bolts. In this chapter, we will walk you through the steps of creating a podcast.

Choosing a Format

You can use a number of different formats when creating podcasts. The easiest, of course, is the one-person narrative. Read like a radio broadcast, in a one-person narrative, one person reads from a prepared page or two of information. This is most suitable for news briefs and general conceptual training.

The one-to-one interview is the next easiest format of podcast that you can use. You (or the host of your show) interview another person, and typically, a set of questions is prepared for response.
