The following is a list of terms used in the book. For each term, we have provided a definition and, optionally, some links to follow for further reading about the subject.

AAC

Abbreviation for Advanced Audio Coding. AAC is a new breed of codec for encoding audio that provides more efficient compression than older formats such as MP3. It is used by many modern Internet, wireless, and digital broadcast systems. Apple heavily supports AAC in iTunes.
