Chapter 4. Monitoring and controlling the project

The Monitoring and Controlling the Project performance domain covers approximately 25 percent of the Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam. It includes all the activities required to track actual progress against planned progress, detect variances, and manage the change control process. Monitoring and controlling activities and tasks are performed throughout the whole life of the project from project conception to project closure, and it is by completing monitoring and controlling tasks that the project manager and project team can gain insight into how well the project is performing.
