Influence of the Organization

The project manager is always focused on getting things accomplished. This frequently requires the ability to work through organizational influences within the organization. Understanding the politics of the organization and how the components interact can have a major impact on this ability. Formal and informal leaders frequently must be kept informed and involved in the decision-making process so that they do not push back on the project manager's authority to push the project forward.
