News Items: blogging for the hurried or risk-averse

Using news items as blog entries is, in true Extreme Programming style, "the simplest thing that could possibly work". Nonetheless, it's a surprisingly flexible practice and will disappoint only if you need features like pings, trackbacks, and remote editor integration.
