It was emphasized in Chapter 7 that a separate treatment of each tool would be necessary in order to see the values and strengths of each in director-actor communication. Although isolating them has perhaps made them seem more abstract than they in fact are, the better you learn to see in great detail everything that happens in a physical way on the stage, the easier it will be for you to see the simultaneous use of these tools.
