The Director’s Preparation

 

 

Adirector’s preparation is a written analysis of given circumstances, dialogue, dramatic action, characters, idea, and rhythm-mood beats. It must be written because this method is the only way a learning director can be certain that all the points in the improvisation provided by the playwright have been covered and not substituted by the director’s own.
