Chapter 12 Make it real – paint the picture

The next step in achieving your goal is to describe the result or outcome as if it was already true and happening today. We have duplicated the large box from the play a bigger game matrix on the next page. Now imagine you have achieved your number one priority goal. In the box in figure 12.1 (p. 126) write down what it will look like, what it will feel like and what impact the change will have on your life. Can you see yourself experiencing that goal? Where are you and what are you doing? Close your eyes if you need to. Try to imagine exactly what the outcome will be and what it might bring to you.

In Paul's case, he is imagining taking a family holiday in Australia. This is what Paul wrote:

We are at the beach and enjoying the sunshine. We are staying in a two-bedroom beachfront apartment on the tenth floor. The children love the apartment and have taken over the second bedroom. Each morning we take a walk around the beachfront past Greenmount Beach, Rainbow Bay and a little beach called Froggies, where a big, frog-shaped rock has been painted green. The children love Froggies, playing in the sand and paddling in the ocean. Jane and I walk hand in hand along the beach as the children collect shells, and later we build a sandcastle on the edge of the surf, before the tide comes in and washes it away. There's heaps of laughter and lots of smiles.
