Accessing Computers Remotely

So far we've concentrated mostly on how to access remote files and networks when you're traveling. The techniques for remote networking give you access to files and folders that you've left behind. There's another way to get at information from afar, and it gives you not just your files and folders but your whole home-base computer, desktop and all. Generically, it's called Remote Control, and there have been commercial applications to support it for years. Windows XP Professional comes with built-in remote control software called the Remote Desktop Connection, and in my opinion, just this one feature is a good enough reason to buy XP Pro instead of Home Edition.
