Special Folders: My Documents, My Pictures, Shared Files, and So On

Everyone likes to have their own personal space. This is kind of what the My Documents folder is for. It's your own personal folder for storing files, pictures, music, and more. By default, it contains two subfolders called My Pictures and My Music. You can share the contents of the folder with others or you can make it private so only you can view them.

TIP

You can make the folders within My Documents folder private so no one other than yourself can view the contents (if the drive is formatted with NTFS). For more information see the following knowledge base article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q298399&.
