Adding Hardware Profiles

The days of a simple system with a floppy and hard drive are long gone. Today there are multiple devices on every system, and while it's nice to have all the extras that allow us increased connectivity and functionality, there are times when it's better to not have everything available. Portable computers are an excellent example where hardware profiles come in very handy. Setting up different profiles for different locations where the computer is used allows you to specify what devices will be loaded to match the intended use.

To set up multiple hardware profiles, navigate through Start, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, System, and click the Hardware tab followed by the Hardware Profiles button. You'll see ...
