Putting an Answer File to Use

Four main types of installations can be performed using an answer file. The name of your answer file will be different depending on the type of install you intend to use it for. Table 5.3 lists the four standard file names for answer files, as well as their purpose and location.

RISETUP.SIFAutomate the setup wizard for RIS-based installs. You'll put this file in the \I386\Templates subdirectory of the folder created for any RIS image.
SYSPREP.INFProvides answers for the SYSPREP Mini-Setup Wizard. SYSPREP.INF should be placed in the C:\SYSPREP directory before running SYSPREP.EXE to prepare a drive for imaging.
