Reading XML Documents
If you've read Part II, "XML," you know that XML is a wonderful language that lets you develop documents in a platform- and vendor-neutral format. Likewise, if you've been reading the other chapters here in Part VI "Java 2," you know that Java is a platform-independent programming language. Although the language was developed by Sun, the list of licensees reads like a veritable "who's who" of computing. So, it should come as no surprise that many people believe that Java and XML were made for each other. You can write Java to run on nearly any computing platform.
