What is fieldbus? Why is it so important? Fieldbus may be conceived as a digital communication system for various field devices such as sensors, actuators, and field control systems. Fieldbus has to address a few needs, such as device addressing, two-way communications to exchange data related to the parameter as well as status of the field device, communication speed, etc. Obviously fieldbus cables are not “just wires.” In modern instrumentation and control system, it is like one main artery in the human body.
