4.5. Protection Issues
ESD system components are located in areas where there are direct fire exposures, so there should be provisions for fire protection measures to ensure integrity during ESD operation and the duration of the major efforts to control the emergency. In this connection, API standard 607 may be referred to for fire protection pertinent to valve systems.
