Chapter 6. Software Process Models

How does the process of creating a useful blueprint fit into various process models that have proven to be valuable to the industry?

A great amount of work, both theoretical and practical, has gone into studying the software development process. This work has largely condensed into a few major process models. This chapter provides an overview of some of the important planning process models that are most commonly used. Each of these is discussed in great detail in the literature. It is not the intention to go into great detail in this one small chapter, but to relate them to each other and to suggest how they can be best utilized to produce the development blueprint.
