4.2. Use Simple Language

In communications, the ability to communicate rich meaning in few words is a rare skill, normally reserved to immensely talented authors, poets, and satirists. Scientific and technical types sometimes have great communications skill as well. The late astronomer Carl Sagan had an amazing ability to take complex scientific concepts and make them understandable, even inspirational, to practically anyone. A thousand physicists could explain black holes in complex terms, but only someone like Carl Sagan could translate those same concepts into everyday terms and even add a touch of awe and wonder.
