Effective management of ELR is a critical element of a successful business. Employees who are treated with dignity and respect and given the tools they need to succeed in turn reward employers with increased production, fewer sick days, and a loyal and committed workforce. Organization culture begins with management attitudes toward employees and ranges from those that are based on an autocratic philosophy characterized by "top-down" communication and interactions to those of employee empowerment where individuals and work teams make the decisions necessary to get their jobs done.
