As indicated earlier, the collective bargaining process results in a collective bargaining agreement. In many ways, however, the collective bargaining agreement is more of a beginning than an ending. It is a living document that provides the structure and framework within which the daily happenings of the employment relationship are brought to life. It also provides the language that will govern the employment relationship—language that is at times subject to different interpretations, thereby presenting challenges that need to be resolved.
