Performance Management

Though not always thought of as an HRD intervention, well-executed performance management is wholly consistent with the mission of HRD. Why? Because individual performance directly impacts team, unit, and organizational performance, performance management is a critical element of an organization's ultimate overall success.

Performance management is the process by which managers and their direct reports communicate about, plan for, and as the name implies, “manage” the individual performance of their direct reports.
